Agartala, April 26, 2023: A memorandum was submitted to the District Magistrate of North Tripura district by the Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh on Wednesday.
As per the terms of the session which was held in Patna, the Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh handed over their four point charter of demands to the Prime Minister of India through the District Magistrate in each district.
The delegation consisted of BMS central secretary Debashree Kalai, Sangh’s North District president Subrata Rudra Pal, general secretary Biplab Das and other members were present.
General Secretary Kalai said that their demands include abolition of contract system i.e. stop the contract system through which workers are employed. Second is to pay a living wage instead of a minimum wage, adequate provision of food, clothing and shelter. Third demand is social security which neither the centre nor the states have so far failed to provide social security to the workers.
A memorandum was presented to the Prime Minister by the Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh on April 26 in every district across the country.
