Agartala, 9th March 2026:   Tribal Welfare Minister Bikas Debbarma today emphasized that education is the cornerstone for the development of tribal communities.

During his visit to the S.T. Boys and Girls Hostel in Gandatwisa subdivision, Minister Debbarma spent quality time interacting with the students, discussing their studies, aspirations, and dreams. He expressed that engaging with tribal youth reinforced his belief that they are the greatest strength for the future of society.

“Education has the power to transform lives,” said the Minister. “While many tribal children were previously deprived of educational opportunities due to various challenges, the times are changing. An enlightened child can shape not only their own future but also guide the entire community toward progress.”

During the visit, Minister Debbarma closely observed the hostel’s facilities, including study areas and meal services. He even joined the girls for lunch to better understand their daily experiences. He stressed the collective responsibility to provide a safe, healthy, and supportive environment for all students.

Reiterating his commitment, the Minister said that ensuring access to education for every child, even in remote areas, and supporting them in realizing their dreams remain top priorities for the government. He pledged to continue working toward building a confident, educated, and empowered generation capable of advancing tribal society.
