Agartala, 8th June 2026: A sense of shock gripped the Churaibari area in North Tripura after the body of a man was recovered near the railway tracks in the locality.
The deceased has been identified as Raju Mia. According to information, he originally hailed from Nontai Chhara area under Bisramganj Police Station in Sepahijala district. However, following his marriage, he had been residing for the past eight to nine years at his in-laws’ house in East Churaibari Gram Panchayat area.
Local sources claimed that the deceased had been allegedly involved in substance abuse for a long time, which reportedly led to frequent disturbances in his family life.
Upon receiving information, personnel from Churaibari Police Station and Railway Police reached the spot and recovered the body. Preliminary assessments suggest that he may have died in an accident while moving near the railway track under the influence of intoxicants. However, police have not ruled out other possibilities and stated that the exact cause of death will be confirmed only after the post-mortem examination report is received.
The body has been sent for autopsy, and a joint investigation has been launched by Churaibari Police and Railway Police. The incident has created tension and concern in the area.
