Agartala Nov 28: The body of missing middle-aged woman was recovered on Monday from Mangalkhali area under Dharmanagar Police station. The deceased identified as Lakshmi Das around 43 years of age was reportedly missing for past few months.
According to details, the family of the deceased woman informed the Dharmanagar police station in writing after she went missing few months back. But police failed to trace the missing woman.Finally, on Monday morning the trespassers recovered the body of the missing woman in a half- naked condition, 200 meters away from her in-law’s house.
Police from Dharmanagar police station rushed to the spot after receiving the information.Forensic team, dog squad also reached the spot. Women’s shoes, money bag was found lying in different places near the dead body. Police recovered the body and took it for post-mortem. The incident of recovery of the dead body has spread sensation in the area. Although it is suspected that the woman was brutally raped before being killed, but actual reason can be known only in the course of investigation, said police.
