Agartala, 10th May 2024:   A young man named Apan Debnath was discovered hanging from the balcony of his home today morning after his mother has scolded him. The circumstances surrounding his death have sparked outrage and raised concerns about the efficacy of local law enforcement.

Apan Debnath, known for his struggles with alcoholism, reportedly returned home intoxicated once again on Friday night, a routine that had become all too familiar for his family. Following an altercation with his mother over his drinking habits, she retired to bed, leaving Apan to his own devices. Tragically, she awoke to the devastating sight of her son’s lifeless body suspended from the balcony.

Despite the frantic cries for help from Apan’s mother, the response from Bishalgarh police has drawn severe criticism. Eyewitnesses report that police arrived promptly at the scene but made no immediate effort to remove the deceased from his hanging position. Shockingly, the body remained suspended for hours, from 1:30 am until morning, as distraught family members and concerned neighbors pleaded for action.

Adding to the distress, when contacted by local residents seeking assistance, police allegedly showed apathy, advising the family to remove the body themselves. This callous disregard for the grieving family’s plight has sparked widespread condemnation and raised serious questions about the professionalism and empathy of the local authorities.
