Agartala, 24th May 2026 : The 199th Battalion of the Border Security Force organized a vibrant cycling expedition on Sunday morning under the banner of the Central Government’s “Khelo India–Fit India” initiative, carrying forward the inspiring message: “A Daily Dose of Fitness—Just Half an Hour.” The program, titled “Sundays on Cycle,” was conducted from the renowned Shaivite pilgrimage site of Unakoti to the Tilabazar BSF Camp in Unakoti district.
The cycling rally officially commenced at 8 AM under the supervision of the 199th BSF Battalion. Both male and female personnel of the battalion participated enthusiastically in the fitness-driven initiative, reflecting the force’s commitment toward promoting physical well-being and a healthy lifestyle.
With the slogan emphasizing the importance of dedicating just half an hour daily to fitness, the primary objectives of the event were to spread awareness about health and wellness among the general public, encourage regular physical exercise, and inspire people—especially the youth—to adopt healthier lifestyles.
Starting from the historic pilgrimage site of Unakoti, the rally passed through several important routes before reaching the Tilabazar BSF Camp. Participants displayed remarkable energy and enthusiasm throughout the journey. Local residents and passersby also welcomed the initiative warmly, with many joining in to support the campaign’s message of fitness and health consciousness.
BSF sources informed, such awareness programs are being organized to underline the significance of maintaining physical fitness amid increasingly busy daily schedules. The initiative also aims to motivate young people to engage more actively in sports and outdoor activities while staying away from unhealthy habits.
It is noteworthy that under the nationwide “Fit India” movement, cycling rallies, marathons, and various fitness-oriented programs are being conducted regularly across different parts of the country. In continuation of this broader national effort, the initiative undertaken by the 199th BSF Battalion received an encouraging and positive response from the local community.
