Burglars loot gold worth Rs 2 lakh at Badharghat

Agartala, 25th February 2026:   A daring burglary in the Badharghat Matri Palli area has left residents shocked after miscreants broke into the home of local schoolteacher Debajit Roy and looted valuables worth nearly Rs 2 lakh. The stolen items reportedly include gold ornaments, cash, and other expensive belongings.

Police suspect the incident took place late at night. According to initial reports, the family had been away for several days, giving the burglars an opportunity to strike. The intruders allegedly broke the locks, ransacked cupboards and drawers, and fled with the valuables.

The crime came to light when the family returned and discovered the house in disarray. They immediately informed the police, who reached the spot and have since launched an investigation.

Authorities are examining the scene and questioning locals as part of efforts to track down the culprits. The incident has triggered widespread concern in the neighborhood, with residents demanding stronger security measures.
