Agartala, 11th October 2025 : A Natunnagar HS school in Agartala city was once again the target of a late-night burglary, sparking concern among residents and parents. A gang of thieves broke into the institution in the early hours of this morning, making off with Rs 40,000 in cash and several valuable items.
The incident came to light when the headmaster arrived at the school this morning and found the office door lock broken. Upon entering, he found the cupboards ransacked. According to school authorities, the stolen items include the school’s cash reserves, electronic equipment, and important documents.
“This appears to be a well-planned theft,” the headmaster said, adding that the absence of CCTV cameras has made it difficult to identify the culprits. A formal complaint has been lodged with the local police, who have since visited the scene and initiated an investigation.
Local residents revealed that this is not an isolated incident. Several schools in the city have reported similar break-ins in recent weeks, but no arrests have been made so far. They urged the police to expedite the investigation and bring the perpetrators to justice.
In the wake of the incident, parents have called for immediate strengthening of security measures across educational institutions in the city.
