Agartala, July 30, 2023: In a daring act of burglary, a gang of thieves broke into the Shri Shri Ram Thakur Seva Mandir at Teliamura during the dark hours of the night. The culprits forcefully opened the temple’s locked door, gaining entry into its premises. Once inside, they targeted two donation boxes, stealing the money collected as offerings.

After committing the crime, the burglars haphazardly discarded the donation boxes within the temple before fleeing the scene undetected. The incident came to light on Sunday morning when the temple authorities noticed the theft and immediately reported it to the Teliamura police.

Promptly responding to the report, the local police reached the crime scene and initiated an investigation into the matter. A case of theft has been registered, and the police are working diligently to gather evidence and track down the perpetrators.

Local residents have voiced their concerns, highlighting that such incidents of theft have become increasingly organized and frequent in several temples in Teliamura lately. They attribute the rise in such crimes to the lack of regular surveillance in the area.

As the police delve deeper into the investigation, the community anxiously awaits swift action to apprehend the culprits and restore a sense of security to their religious places.
