Agartala, 19th December 2025: Kumarghat witnessed a tragic accident this afternoon when a local businessman lost his life after being hit by two vehicles.
The deceased has been identified as Liton Pal, also known as Samiran Pal, a well-known cloth merchant from Pabiacherra market. He was a father of two and resided in the New Market area of Kumarghat.
Reportedly, Liton Pal was riding his motorcycle towards Betachhara around 12 noon when a speeding vehicle coming from the opposite direction rammed into him and fled the scene immediately. The impact threw him onto the road, where another vehicle coming from behind ran over him. He sustained fatal injuries and died on the spot.
News of the accident spread quickly, casting a pall of grief over the area. Locals immediately informed the police, who arrived at the scene, recovered the body, and sent it for post-mortem examination.
Police sources confirmed that one of the vehicles involved in the accident has been seized, while efforts are underway to trace the other. A full investigation into the incident has been launched.
