Agartala, 8th October 22 : Tripura Police today seized cannabis of worth lakh rupee from Paharmura area under Khowai district.While speaking with reporters, Khowai Sub-divisional Police officer Rajib Sutradhar said based on a tip off police of Khowai police station were searching vehicle on road.
“At Pohormura Naka Point based on a tip off we have detained a good laden auto truck. During checking up the vehicle we have found around 70 kgs of cannabis which was kept inside a hidden chamber. When we detained the auto truck the driver of the vehicle absconded from the spot”, said police.
According to police sources, the value of the recovered cannabis will be more than three lakh rupees. The incident took place on Saturday afternoon near Pahrampur market under Khowai police station. Police learned that the auto truck was carrying the cannabis from Mohanpur under West District and was going to another place.
