Agartala, 20th November 2024: A Hyundai i10 car bearing registration number TR03N-0772 has lost control and overturned on National Highway 8 near Warengbari in Pathalia Ghat Village under Bishramganj Police Station, Jampuijala Block on Wednesday morning. The vehicle crashed into trees leaving the passengers and driver with a narrow escape.
Eyewitnesses reported that the car was traveling at high speed from Udaipur to Lembucherra when it lost control near the Warengbari area, overturned multiple times, and came to rest after breaking a tree and falling into a ditch. Villagers rushed to the scene upon hearing the crash and rescued the passengers.
The fire department was alerted, and the Bishramganj fire brigade responded to the call. However, the driver of the car fled the scene before their arrival, apparently out of fear. Fortunately, the passengers survived without severe injuries, but the car was left severely damaged.
The incident took place around 7 AM has caused panic in the area with local residents gathering to witness the aftermath. Villagers expressed concerns over the rising number of accidents on national highways in the Bishramganj police station jurisdiction, emphasizing the urgent need for stricter safety measures.
