Agartala, 15th May 2026: A door-to-door census operation will be carried out in the West District from August 1 to August 31, followed by a second phase of household questionnaire-based data collection scheduled for March next year.
As part of the preparatory measures, a training session for supervisors and officers in charge of census duties was held on Friday. The programme was organized by the West District administration.
District Magistrate Dr. Vishal Kumar stated that household heads will be able to submit their details through a mobile application between July 17 and July 31, ahead of the field survey. He also mentioned that this year’s census will include an integrated approach covering both general and community-related data.
Officials noted that the census is a major administrative exercise requiring active participation from the public. Enumerators will visit every household and collect responses based on a structured questionnaire.
The District Magistrate has urged residents to cooperate fully and provide accurate information to ensure the effectiveness and reliability of the census process.
