Agartala: July 27. Ministry of Rural Development, Government of India has sanctioned 32 roads for the state under PMGSY-III. The estimated cost of construction of the roads is estimated at Rs 21423 crore. The length of these roads will be 231.64 km.
Among them 4 roads (21.919 km) are in North Tripura, 1 road is in Dhalai district (12.877 km), 8 roads are in Khowai district (55.811 km), 6 roads are in South Tripura district (50.077 km) and in West there are 11 roads (78.531 km). In Tripura, Nano technology is being used for 122.71 km of roads. Moreover, with the aim of building high-quality and strong roads, it has been decided to use FDR method for construction of 250 km of roads in PMGSY-3 project, said Bimal Das, Chief Engineer, Department of Public Works (PMGSY). In a press release, he said, the PMGSY-3 project mainly focuses on improving existing rural and main roads connecting settlements with rural markets, educational institutions, hospitals, administrative headquarters etc. A total of 775 km of existing roads will be improved in this project.
