Agartala, May 30, 2023: CITU state president Manik Dey on Tuesday said that the working class people should develop a united movement in wiping away the capitalist system from the society.
While addressing a meeting in front of the Labour department office at Office Lane area here on the occasion of CITU’s 54th Foundation Day on Tuesday, Dey said that the Centre for Indian Trade Unions’ want a classless and exploitation free society. To build this social system, the capitalist system must end because capitalism knows how to create problems. Hence, there is an utmost necessity for developing a united movement and move away from the capitalist system for the sake of the workers.
He said that since the formation of the BJP-led government at the centre and states, essential commodities price have been continuously increasing, selling off factories and retrenching workers has brought one after another danger to the workers in the country.
The enemies of the democratic movement are trying to undermine unity when the movement is being organized to protect the workers against it. They want to divert people’s attention. They are not only enemies of the democratic movement, they are communal and dictatorial in the country, Dey said.
In the meeting, CITU leader Amal Chakraborty said that the present government is trying to run a bull dodger on the workers by breaking the labour law and introducing the labour code. Amal Chakraborty said that there will be a movement against this in the coming days.
