Agartala, 4th June 2024: A scuffle broke out during a flower bouquet presentation to the newly elected MLA Dipak Majumdar in Ramnagar assembly constituency under West Tripura district on Tuesday. The incident took place shortly after Majumdar’s victory in the by-election, where he secured 24,648 votes as the BJP candidate.
According to eyewitness accounts, a group of enthusiastic workers gathered to welcome the MLA with floral bouquets. However, tensions escalated when members of the Yuva Morcha allegedly attacked the well-wishers. The situation quickly spiraled into chaos resulting in injuries to three individuals.
The victims, who sustained serious injuries were promptly rescued and shifted to the IGM Hospital in Agartala city for medical treatment. Among the injured, a woman has demanded a fair trial from MLA Deepak Majumdar regarding the incident.
Local authorities are investigating the matter, and tensions remain high in the aftermath of this unexpected clash.
