Agartala, 4th November 2024:   Several women were injured in clashes between two groups centered on the immersion procession of Goddess Kali at Radhanagar. Following the incident, the injured filed a case with the West Agartala Women’s Police Station prompting the police to launch an investigation.

It is reported that the women residing near Radha Madhav Temple have been organizing Kali Puja for the past five years. However, this year, a new Kali Puja was organized behind their residence, leading to tensions. Clashes erupted between the two groups yesterday during the immersion procession, resulting in injuries to several women.

“The organizers of the new Kali Puja attacked us in a concerted manner during the immersion of Goddess Kali,” alleged one of the injured women. Despite informing the Radha Madhav club members, no action was taken, leaving the women with no choice but to file a case with the West Agartala Women’s Police Station.

The police have assured a thorough investigation into the incident to bring the perpetrators to justice. The community remains on edge as they await the outcome of the investigation.
