Agartala, 19th November 2024: Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha today witnessed the final match and the closing ceremony of the 78th National Football Championship for Santosh Trophy 2024-25 at Umakanta Mini Stadium.
While addressing the event, Dr. Saha expressed his excitement about attending the game. “I am very glad that today the 78th National Football Championship, Santosh Trophy 2025, has been held in Tripura after 2018. It is indeed very good news, especially for the players of Tripura and football lovers, who have been looking forward to witnessing this game,” he said.
Dr. Saha mentioned that the matches started on the 15th of this month and concluded today. “In the final, the game was played between Tripura and Manipur. Although Tripura lost, I heard they put up a very good fight against Manipur. I congratulate both teams. I also extend my congratulations to all the other participants from the Northeast region. This event has been very well managed by our Tripura Football Association, and I would like to thank them,” he added.
