Agartala: August 22. Soon after one BSF personnel died in an ambush by the NLFT along the India-Bangladesh border in the North district , Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on Monday said that the police and BSF jawans have been asked to stay alert posted along with the international border.
While speaking about the recent attack on BSF, CM Dr Saha feels due to the non-completion work of barbed wire fencing the attack has taken place.
“What I have gathered from that incident is that some works of barbed wire fencing have not yet been completed due to objection raised by Bangladesh side. This is an international matter but not a matter of state. The Central government is holding a discussion with Bangladesh on it. When fencing will be completed such kinds of incidents will be reduced. Because of no fencing that incident took place”, he said.
He further informed that he has asked the DGP to alert everyone posted along the international border.
“I have asked the DGP to alert everyone who is posted along with the border to remain very careful. As the militants are remains in the safe zone, they are doing this ambush. Naturally, they are in a better position, and injuries on our part are much more. We have discussed how to tackle such things”, he said.
