Agartala, January 13, 2023: Chief Minister Prof Dr Manik Saha on Friday inaugurated new “Eye OT” in the premises of Dr BRAM Teaching Hospital and Tripura Medical College at Hapania here.
Addressing the inaugural ceremony, Dr Saha said “It is indeed a wonderful day for all of us today. This college started its journey in 2005 and the Medical Council of India (MCI) gave us the ‘Letter of Permission’ in 2006. In the middle, there have been many problems in this teaching hospital and medical college which is known to all.”
“We all were aware that the ‘Eye OT’ and ‘ENT OT’ was together. Whenever MCI inspectors used to pay visit in this hospital, they used to ask the hospital authority for separating the OTs, but there was a problem in identifying a suitable place. After the construction of new building, there has been an ample space. For a day or two, I have discussed with Dr Chakma of setting up of ‘Eye OT’ in the upper floors of the hospital’s new building. From that time onwards, CEO and Chairman of the Medical College’s society had been trying and today, we have witnessed the result”, he added.
The CM said “Everything is for the common people. And eye is one of the most important organ of a human being. Hence, the ‘Eye OT’ has been opened for the patients with advanced and modern facilities. In the coming days, more changes and innovative machineries will be set up in this operation theatre.”
In this inaugural ceremony, Principal Dr Arindam Datta, MS Dr Jayanta Poddar and other senior doctors along with healthcare staff were present.
