Agartala, 25th July 2026: Tripura Chief Minister Professor Dr. Manik Saha has categorically denied claims that Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose’s name is being removed from the state’s homoeopathy hospital, asserting that the matter is being deliberately politicized.
Speaking at a BJP organizational workshop, Dr. Saha clarified that the restructuring involves only minor adjustments to align with standard medical institutional nomenclature. He emphasized that Netaji’s name will remain unchanged. “There is a misconception among people regarding this, and the issue is being politicized intentionally. That is incorrect,” he stated.
The Chief Minister explained that the word “State” is being dropped to match the naming format used in institutions such as Agartala Government Medical College and GB Hospital. Accordingly, the facility will be officially designated as the Homoeopathy Medical College and Netaji Subhas Bose Hospital.
Dr. Saha’s remarks were delivered during the Sampriti Sankalpa Abhiyan workshop, organized to commemorate the 650th birth anniversary of Sri Guru Ravidas Maharaj. He highlighted the BJP’s outreach programs aimed at spreading the saint’s teachings across Tripura.
The event was attended by BJP State President Abhishek Debroy and senior party leaders, who discussed strategies for upcoming public campaigns.
