CM Dr Saha directs health dept to keep close eye on Covid, reviewed overall health dept

Agartala: July 22. Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha today directed the health department to keep a close eye on the Covid-19 and to take prompt action as per the situation.A virtual meeting was held today under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha regarding overall health services of the state.

In this virtual meeting, there was a wide discussion about the success, progress, future work and various new initiatives of the four directorates of the health department. The health secretary presented detailed information about the ongoing programs of the department.

In the virtual meeting, Chief Minister Dr. Saha advised the officials of the department to prioritize the health services sector for speedy implementation of central and state government projects and to complete the deficient areas within the stipulated time frame.

He directed the department to keep a regular vigil on the recent covid situation in the state and take prompt action as per the situation. The Chief Minister also attached special importance to raising awareness among the people in this regard.

In a virtual meeting, the Chief Minister also suggested taking necessary steps to increase specialist medical services in various district hospitals and sub-divisional hospitals of the state.

He also stressed on the importance of keeping in view the infrastructural development at various levels of health services as well as the better service to the patients. Also, new recruitment in health department, use of modern equipment, covid vaccination etc. were discussed with priority in the meeting. In the meeting, Chief Secretary JK Sinha, Health Secretary Dr. Debashis Bose along with Head of Department and other dignitaries were present.
