Agartala, 19th August 2026 : Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha on Wednesday inaugurated the ‘Bharat Matri Kendra’ and ‘Kamnayak Center House’ at Govind Ballabh Pant (GB) Hospital in Agartala.
The inauguration ceremony was held at the KL Auditorium of the hospital in the presence of Health Secretary Chiranjeevi, the Mayor of Agartala Municipal Corporation, senior Health Department officials and other dignitaries.
The Chief Minister formally inaugurated the newly constructed facility by cutting a ribbon and subsequently inspected its various rooms and infrastructure. He also held discussions with officials to learn about the facilities, service arrangements and amenities planned for patients and their attendants.
Health Department officials said the new centre is expected to strengthen support services within the GB Hospital complex and address various needs of people visiting the hospital. The initiative is aimed at improving facilities for patients and their families alongside the hospital’s existing medical services.
During his visit, Dr. Saha directed the concerned officials to take necessary measures to further improve the quality and efficiency of services at GB Hospital.
The inauguration marks another step towards strengthening patient-oriented infrastructure at the state’s major government hospital.
