CM inaugurates blood donation camp commemorating ex-MLA Dilip Sarkar’s 4th death anniversary; 91 donates blood

Agartala, April 01, 2023: Chief Minister Prof Dr Manik Saha on Saturday inaugurated a blood donation camp commemorating the fourth death anniversary of late MLA Dilip Sarkar at Charipara Vidyalaya Para in Badharghat assembly constituency.

Dr Saha was accompanied by AMC Mayor Dipak Majumder, MLA Surajit Datta, MLA Mina Rani Sarkar, social worker Rajib Bhattacharjee, late MLA’s elder brother Rajkumar Sarkar paid tribute to late MLA Dilip Sarkar in the discussion. MLA Antara Sarkar Deb, Deputy Mayor Manika Das Datta and corporators of AMC.

Addressing the inaugural ceremony, Dr Saha said “The current government in the state is the people’s government. The state government wants to build a ‘Unnato Tripura, Shrestha Tripura’. ‘Sabka Saath Sabka Bikas, Sabka Biswas and Sabka Prayas’ is the main mantra of the government and this goal is reflected in every activity of the government.”

Paying floral tribute to the portrait of former MLA late Dilip Sarkar, Chief Minister said “The late MLA Dilip Sarkar always had a tendency to help people. The late MLA will be given proper respect only if the principle of dealing with people is followed.” He said blood donation is the highest donation among all donations. Blood has no religion, no caste and no gender. There can be no greater humanitarian service than donating blood.

The Chief Minister said that due to the election, there was a shortage of blood in the blood banks of the state, but at present various schools, colleges and organizations have come forward in voluntary blood donation, which has created public awareness. The Chief Minister said that the government has taken appropriate initiatives to make Tripura drug-free.

The Chief Minister said that the representatives of the G-20 group of countries are coming to Tripura for the meeting. They will visit various places of interest in the state. Along with the culture of the state, various products produced in the state will be showcased to the foreign delegates through various stalls. As a result, the Chief Minister hoped that Tripura would take a special place on the world map.

On the occasion, Chief Minister handed over ration items to 2 residents of Apna Ghar Old Age Home. A total of 91 blood donors donated blood in the blood donation camp.
