Agartala, November 25, 2022: Inaugurating the Drone Technology Centre at Tripura Institute of Technology (TIT) premises, Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha on Friday said that the government has laid priority on education and special focus has been given to the development of technology in this state.
Addressing the inaugural ceremony, Dr Saha said that drones will be manufactured from this centre in near future and the government is working for achieving target of “Atmanirbhar Tripura”.
The Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the recently conducted “Bharat Drone Mahotsav” claimed that the future of people lies on technology, he added.
Speaking at the programme, Education minister Ratanlal Nath highlighted the various schemes introduced for the progress of Higher Education in the state benefiting hundreds of youths.
He said that the new government in the state gave slogan of “Ek Tripura Shrestha Tripura” and “Atmanirbhar Tripura”. Sharing the significance of Drone Technology Centre, Education minister said “Distribution of seeds on agricultural lands, spraying of pesticides and fertilizers, distribution of relief materials during natural calamity in remotest areas will be done through the utilization of drones.”
He also said that this Drone Technology will also help in identification of lands of many residents in villages who have no valid documents. Thus, in 2021, Pradhan Mantri Swamitva Yojana was launched for those villagers. So far, 36 lakh cards has been distributed in 1.36 lakh villages throughout the country.
MLA Krishnadhan Das, Education department secretary Sharadindu Chowdhury and Higher Education Director Nipendra Chandra Sharma were present in this programme while TIT principal Prof Sekhar Datta delivered the welcome address.
