Agartala, 11th January 2026: Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha today visited various locations across Dharmanagar subdivision in North Tripura. Among the key sites of his inspection were the Assam-Churaibari border gate, Churaibari Celtex, Churaibari Police Station, Churaibari MBI Office, the residence of Kamrul Hossain in Churaibari, and Keshar in Ward No. 4 of Laxminagar.
During his visit, the Chief Minister stated that he had personally inspected complaints that had long been reported in newspapers regarding illegal activities and corruption in the region. Speaking at a press briefing, he said that allegations concerning stone-laden overloaded trucks operating in stone and other illegal activities, which had been widely reported in the media, were verified during his inspection. According to him, most of the reported claims were found to be accurate.
Following the verification of these illegal practices, the Chief Minister directed the North District Superintendent of Police, Avinash Rai, the District Magistrate, Chandni Chandan, and the North District Traffic Department to take immediate administrative and legal action against the violations observed at the Churaibari border and surrounding areas.
The next point of interest remains how effectively the district administration, including the District Magistrate, Superintendent of Police, and the traffic department, will be able to enforce the law and curb these long-standing illegal practices. The people of North Tripura are awaiting decisive action.
