Agartala, 5th December 2024: Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha inspected the site allocated for the upcoming Tripura Bhawan in Mumbai, marking a significant step toward the state government’s efforts to establish a dedicated facility in the financial capital.
Dr. Saha, who traveled to Mumbai yesterday to attend the swearing-in ceremony of the newly elected Maharashtra Chief Minister, utilized the opportunity to review the land and assess the project’s progress.
Addressing the media, Dr. Saha emphasized the importance of this initiative, which aims to cater to the needs of people from Tripura, including patients seeking medical treatment in Mumbai.
“The state has long needed a Tripura Bhawan in Mumbai. The cabinet approved this project, and land has been secured for it. During my visit, I personally inspected the site, which is conveniently located near Tata Cancer Hospital and accessible from two main roads. Other states, like Sikkim, are also building Bhawans in the area,” Dr. Saha said.
He further shared that a budget of ₹100 crore has been sanctioned for the project, with the land acquisition already completed. The design of the Bhawan is under review, with minor modifications planned to ensure its functionality and accessibility.
“This facility will bring immense benefits to the people of Tripura in the years to come,” the Chief Minister added.
