Agartala, 13th October 2025: Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha today met Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman in New Delhi to discuss the need to increase the ceiling for Externally Aided Projects (EAPs).
Speaking on X, Dr. Saha said, “I met Union Finance Minister Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman Ji today to discuss the need to enhance the ceiling for Externally Aided Projects. Several critical projects in Urban Development, Tourism, and the Agartala Municipal Corporation are currently stalled due to the existing limit.”
The discussion centered on accelerating key infrastructure and development projects in the state, which are currently constrained by the present EAP ceiling. Increasing the limit is expected to enable faster implementation of projects focused on urban development, tourism promotion, and municipal improvements in Agartala and other areas.
In addition to the Finance Minister, Dr. Saha also met BL Santhosh, National General Secretary (Organisation) of the BJP, at the party headquarters in New Delhi.
