Agartala, 14th October 2025 : In a bid to strengthen Tripura’s healthcare infrastructure, Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha met Union Health Minister and BJP National President Shri Jagat Prakash Nadda in New Delhi today and discussed several key health initiatives for the state.
In a post on X, Dr. Saha informed that he requested the Union Health Minister to establish a Medical College at Kulai in Dhalai district—an Aspirational District—on a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) basis.
“Met Hon’ble Union Health Minister & National President of BJP Shri JP Nadda Ji in New Delhi today. Discussed key healthcare initiatives for Tripura, including setting up a Medical College at Kulai, Dhalai (Aspirational District) on PPP basis, and establishment of a Tertiary Ophthalmology Hospital at Agartala,” Dr. Saha wrote.
The Chief Minister also sought the establishment of an Immunology Lab for Organ Transplant Services at Agartala Government Medical College (AGMC) & GBP Hospital.
“Requested for funds for advanced medical instruments at the Super Speciality Block, AGMC, and additional funds for AB-PMJAY to settle the pending claims,” he added.
Dr. Saha’s meeting with the Union Health Minister reflects the state government’s continued focus on expanding medical education, strengthening healthcare infrastructure, and improving access to advanced health services across Tripura.
