CM orders strict action, three jail officials suspended

Agartala, 16th May 2024 : The state government has suspended three officials of the Central Correctional Home in Bishalgarh of Sepahijala District after their dereliction of duty in connection with the incident of a prisoner escape on May 14.

The incident drew the attention of Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha, who immediately instructed the concerned officials to take strict action against those behind the incident. Dr. Saha further stated that the state government cannot tolerate such negligence in duty.

Following this, a criminal case was registered, and in addition, three jail officials have also been suspended for dereliction of duty. They are identified as Debashish Shil, Sub-Jailor (in-charge, KST Bishalgarh), Tapan Rupini (Warder), and Mafiz Mia (Guard Commander).
