CM reviews development works, health, education services

Agartala, 13th July 2026:   Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha today said that the public welfare programs of the state government should be implemented more effectively by ensuring the active participation of the people and increasing public awareness.

“Every district administration and every department should highlight the positive initiatives and development works of the government to the common people. At the same time, all other departments, including the security administration, district administration, health, education, etc., should fulfill their respective responsibilities through mutual coordination,” said Dr. Saha.

Chief Minister Professor (Dr.) Manik Saha said this to the officers of various departments, including the district administration, during the Task Monitoring System meeting organized through video conference at Conference Hall No. 2 of the Secretariat today.

The Chief Minister said that the main goal of every public welfare program of the government is the overall development of the people.

“Therefore, officers at every level of the administration should take a more active role in increasing public awareness by maintaining close contact with the people. In addition to informing the common people about the various developmental and people-oriented projects of the government, coordination among the departments should be strengthened further,” he said.

In the meeting, the Chief Minister directed that the interests of the common people be given the highest priority while implementing development works.

He said that citizens should not face any kind of inconvenience due to any development project. In this regard, he directed the concerned departments to strictly follow the prescribed norms.

Dr. Saha also inquired about the situation of various district hospitals in the state. He especially gave necessary instructions regarding the smooth functioning of the pediatric department of Kumarghat Hospital. He inquired about the current situation of malaria and various non-communicable diseases in Dhalai district and laid emphasis on conducting public awareness programs in this regard. At the same time, he also gave necessary instructions regarding whether the services of primary health centres are being operated properly.

The Chief Minister inquired about the educational environment in schools, the quality of teaching, and the effectiveness of mid-day meal services. He emphasized maintaining the quality of these services, directing the concerned officials accordingly.

He advised the concerned departments to take necessary measures to ensure the timely payment of allowances to the beneficiaries under various social security schemes.

He urged the District Magistrates to conduct regular field inspections and surveillance to keep various tourist centres in the state clean and attractive.

Chief Minister’s Secretary Dr. P. K. Chakraborty, secretaries of various departments, the Director of the Information and Cultural Affairs Department, and senior officers of other departments were present.
