Agartala, 4th February 2026 :  Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha today urged students to be educated in ethics and values.

He said that the education gained by students should be used for the welfare of society and the country. Only then will today’s students be able to develop themselves as human beings in their future lives.

Dr. Saha said this while inaugurating the newly constructed two-storey building of P.M.-SHRI Hajibari Class XII School in the Fatikroy Assembly area today.

Apart from this, the Chief Minister also laid the foundation stone of a new bridge between Saidarpar and Kumarghat’s Sardapalli over the Manu River at a cost of Rs 1.26 crore and inaugurated the Sixth Milan Mela-2026 on the grounds of the Class XII School in Fatikroy.

Later, Dr. Saha said that once the bridge is constructed, six to seven thousand people of the area will be directly benefited.“Especially farmers will be able to easily take their produce to the Kumarghat market and sell it. Besides, the Kumarghat Railway Station will also be very close to the people of this area,” said Dr. Saha.

He said that Tripura is also ahead in women’s safety.“Women can now move around in a fear-free environment even at night. In the whole country, Tripura’s crime rate has significantly dropped. This is development,” said Dr. Saha.

Dr. Saha further said that technology is being used in the education system in the state and initiatives have been taken to make education easily accessible to students through Personalized Adaptive Learning (P.A.L.).“This is part of the National Education Policy programme. Education is a path from darkness to light. We want healthy competition among schools in the field of education. Tripura has now come a long way in higher education infrastructure. There are many universities in the state, both government and private. The number of seats in medical colleges has been increased, and another medical college is being opened in Ambassa. Forensic University and Law University have been established. As a result, the tendency to go outside the state for higher education has decreased. Along with revamping the education system, we are trying to educate students in moral values,” he said.

The Chief Minister was accompanied by Scheduled Caste Welfare Minister Sudhangshu Das, Unakoti Zila Parishad President Amalendu Das, District Magistrate Dr. Tamal Majumdar, Superintendent of Police Sudambika R., Youth Affairs and Sports Minister Tinku Roy, Kumarghat Panchayat Samiti Chairman Sumati Das, and others.
