CM visits family of late businessman, Vows strict action against culprit

Agartala, 18th October 2024:  Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha today visited the residence of late businessman Harishankar Saha and assured exemplary punishment for the culprits.

Harishankar Saha, the owner of a mobile shop, was seriously injured after being stabbed by a miscreant a few days ago. After two days, he succumbed to his injuries at GBP Hospital on Thursday.

Upon his return to the state from Haryana today, Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha went straight to the house of the deceased businessman in the Lalbahadur Club area of Agartala.

He consoled the grieving family by speaking to Harishankar Saha’s wife and children.

During the visit, Dr. Saha expressed deep sorrow over the incident and assured that the culprits would face exemplary punishment.

The Chief Minister was accompanied by the state BJP Vice-President Subal Bhowmik and Banmalipur Mandal President Chandrasekhar Deb.

Following the incident, the Home Department adopted a strict stance. Four jawans from the 7th Battalion of the Tripura State Rifles were suspended. Additionally, West District Superintendent of Police Kiran Kumar K instructed the SDPO to investigate allegations of police negligence.
