CM vows  to combatting crimes against women

Agartala, August 30: Marking the occasion of Rakhi Bandhan, Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha reaffirmed the paramount importance of women’s safety and security under the auspices of the present BJP-led administration in Tripura. He emphasized the government’s unyielding stance against any transgressions targeting women.

“Without compromise, the government stands resolute in taking decisive measures to ensure severe consequences for those found guilty of perpetrating crimes against women. Our actions will align fully with the legal framework,” Dr. Saha asserted.

The proclamation was made at a gathering held at the Chief Minister’s official residence on Dr Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Lane in Agartala, convened to celebrate the Rakhi Bandhan festival.

Within the premises of the Chief Minister’s official residence, the Rakhi Bandhan festival was observed with great fervor. Mothers and sisters from diverse backgrounds bestowed Rakhis upon the Chief Minister, fostering an exchange of warm wishes and blessings.

“Today signifies Rakhi Purnima and Rakhi Bandhan, a profoundly sacred occasion. The state’s administration is unwaveringly dedicated to empowering women across all dimensions. As a guardian, I am solemnly committed to ensuring the holistic welfare of women, encompassing their safety and bolstering their socioeconomic standing. Moreover, these concerns are being pursued with the utmost gravity. Through the establishment of Self-Help Groups (SHGs), the state government actively fosters the economic and social advancement of women. Our governance is wholeheartedly dedicated to the empowerment of women in the region,” articulated Dr. Saha.
