College student drowned in Gomati river

Agartala, May 12, 2023: A 22-year-old college student drowned after taking a bath in Gomati river. NDRF and Udaipur Fire Department personnel launched a search operation in Gomati River to recover the body.

It is learned that Sayan Pal, a resident of the area adjacent to Rajarbagh HS School, went to bath in Gomati river along with two friends on Friday noon and the incident took place.

Sayan began to sink in a sudden stream of water. And his friends saw this scene. Somehow scared, his friends got up from the river and started shouting, before the people of the area gathered, Sayan drowned under the water. It is reported that Udaipur fire brigade personnel reached the spot. Police searched the river for almost 2 hours. Sayan was not found.

After that the SDRF team rushed. They also embarked on a search operation. However, Sayan was not found until writing the news. Sayan’s mother burst into tears and the entire incident cast a shadow of deep grief over the area.
