Agartala, February 09, 2023: A road show was held at Kalibari Road in support of Congress candidate Chayan Bhattacharjee in 56-Dharmanagar assembly constituency followed by a press conference at the Congress Bhavan here in Dharmanagar.
Congress MLA Sudip Roy Barman and Congress national leader Alka Lamba attended the rally in support of the Congress candidate Chayan. They strongly criticized the Modi-led government and the BJP-led government in the state.
The BJP government in the state for five years is described as having failed to fulfil the dreams of the people. The purchasing power of the people in the state as well as the country has decreased. There is no law and order in the state of Tripura, an average of 15 rapes or gang rapes are happening every month. About 30 incidents of violence are taking place every month. Commission trading works everywhere from bottom to top level. Even though there are 50,000 government job vacancies in the state, the BJP government has not filled them.
Government vacancies will be filled first when the Congress Left Front coalition government is formed in the state. A grant of Rs 5 lakh will be given to the youth to start small businesses. Arrangements will be made for the protection of women, moreover, those who are interested in investing in industrial establishments in the state will be given priority and employment arrangements will be made for the unemployed of the state. It started with BJP’s defeat in Himachal Pradesh, now it will be Tripura’s turn, she added.
