Agartala, 30th January 2025: The death anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, the Father of the Nation, was observed today with due dignity. The day has been marked as Martyrdom Day, saw a solemn ceremony in front of the Congress Bhavan here.
The national flag was hoisted, and a wreath was placed at the portrait of Mahatma Gandhi, followed by tributes from attendees. Congress leaders then proceeded to Gandhi Ghat in Agartala to pay homage at Bapu’s grave.
During a program organized to commemorate the occasion, Pradesh Congress President Ashish Kumar Saha highlighted the global observance of Mahatma Gandhi’s death anniversary as Martyrdom Day. He emphasized Gandhi’s enduring message of peace and non-violence, which resonated throughout the country.
Saha also remarked on the inspiration drawn from Gandhi’s lifestyle, honesty, and commitment to non-violence, urging that Gandhiji’s fight for justice and fairness must continue in the future.
