Agartala, November 22, 2022: As political revenges remain unabated, the ruling party is accused of setting fire on a Congress party office and its flags and festoons at Uttar Rauthkhola area under Bishalgarh police station on the night of Monday last.

According to the Congress workers, the ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’, a foot march of the Congress party started from the party office at Uttar Rauthkhola on Monday last. On the same night, the party office was set on fire and the allegations have been labelled against the ruling party-backed miscreants.

Congress workers further complaint that there is rampant misgovernance in the name of good governance across the state. The ruling party wants no political party to exist. There is no democracy in Bishalgarh. Opponents are repeatedly attacked. Opposition party offices are being burnt, their campaigning materials are being destroyed.

“The police are working for the ruling party. Only the Congress workers are being arrested in connection with the political clashes, the ruling party leaders and workers are left free. If the men are not found in the houses of the Congress workers, the police are taking the women and children to the police station and are harassing them. The children and women of the Congress workers in the area are living in a kind of fear in the role of the police”, the Congress party workers added.

In general, supporting a grand opposition party has become a difficult matter, which is not desirable in a democracy, according to Congress workers. They strongly condemned such incidents.
