Agartala, 7th July 2025: The Congress party reawakened in the hilly region of Ujan Pathalia Ghat ADC Village under Takarjala assembly constituency this evening. Organized by the Tribal Congress Committee, a key organizational meeting took place at the Bijoy Nandi Mousum Para, drawing enthusiastic attendance.
Present at the gathering were Pradesh Congress General Secretary and Tribal Congress Committee Chairman Shabda Kumar Jamatia, senior leader Kartik Debbarma of Gabardi Village Committee and long-time Congress loyalists from the hills. The meeting stirred nostalgia and excitement among former Congress workers, who flocked to the site upon hearing party slogans after many years.
Following the meeting, defying pressure from BJP and Tipra Motha, a total of 146 tribal voters from 40 families formally left BJP, Tipra Motha and CPI(M) to join the Indian National Congress. The new entrants were welcomed with party flags by Shabda Kumar Jamatia and other Congress leaders.
