Agartala, 21st July 2025:   Unidentified miscreants allegedly vandalized the shop of Congress worker Sadek Mia in Sahapur village under Shobhapur Gram Panchayat of Sonamura Police Station last night. The attack, reportedly carried out by a group arriving on motorcycles, has drawn sharp accusations from the local Congress leadership against operatives associated with the ruling party’s bike brigade.

According to Sadek Mia, the perpetrators might have come looking for him and, unable to locate him at home due to his absence during a rainstorm while tending to livestock, proceeded to target his shop situated in front of his residence.

Reacting to the incident, Congress President Dipak Chakraborty and General Secretary Habil Mia visited Sadek Mia’s home earlier today, accompanied by other local party leaders. They alleged that the attack was politically motivated, aiming to weaken the Congress’s growing influence in the region under Mia’s leadership.

“The ruling party-backed miscreants are attempting to destabilise our grassroots strength through intimidation,” claimed the district Congress leadership. Sadek Mia has lodged a formal complaint with the local police, demanding the identification and exemplary punishment of those responsible.
