Agartala, 28th March 2025: The construction of an English medium college at the site of the old Central Jail has officially commenced, with a budget allocation of Rs 17,21,87,000. This announcement was made by Education Minister and Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha during the sixth day of the Tripura Legislative Assembly session.
Responding to an unstarred question posed by CPM MLA Dipankar Sen, Mr. Saha stated, “The work of constructing an English medium college on the site of the old Central Jail has started. A total of Rs 17,21,87,000 has been spent for this.”
The initiative marks a significant step in enhancing educational infrastructure in the region.
