Agartala, 6th  February 2026 :   The municipal corporation sealed Maa Durga Textile this morning following allegations of assault on a task force member and the absence of a valid trade license. The incident occurred during a routine inspection drive.

It is reported that the task force officials visited the shop as part of their regular enforcement program. When asked to produce a valid trade license, the shop staff failed to do so. A heated argument ensued between one of the employees and the officials, during which the employee allegedly assaulted a corporation worker. The accused fled the scene immediately after the incident.

Subsequent verification of documents revealed that the shop did not possess a valid trade license. Acting on this violation, the corporation sealed the establishment in accordance with regulations.

The incident briefly triggered tension in the area, though the situation was brought under control. Corporation authorities stated that attacks on municipal staff would not be tolerated and assured that legal action would be taken as required.
