CPIM appeals to prevail peace, harmony in state

Agartala, February 20, 2023: Communist Party of India (Marxist) state committee on Monday sought cooperation from all parts of the state to protect peace and harmony in their respective areas.

In a press communique, CPIM informed that the voting ended on February 16 and counting of votes will take place on March 02 next while in the meantime, speculation will continue. Based on this, unwanted tension is being created somewhere. Attempts are being made to endanger the leaders, workers, supporters, well-wishers of the opposition party by physical attacks, murders, arson, attacks on houses, destroying the source of family livelihood, filing false cases.

“In this situation, the ruling party needs to have a particularly positive role to keep the environment normal. The administration, election commission, police etc. need to be impartial and always vigilant and take a firm role”.

Tripura State Committee of the Communist Party of India, Marxist appeals to the citizens of all parts of Tripura, regardless of party affiliation, come forward with an active role to protect peace and harmony in your respective areas. Cooperate with the police-administration and the Election Commission in this regard.

In particular, CPI(M) called on the leaders and organizers of the Left Front, including the CPI(M), to come forward and play a positive role in the protection of peace and harmony in the state. CPIM urged to be alert and aware so that no one steps into the trap of incitement and do not do anything that may involve incitement. Care must be taken to ensure that no one takes the law into their hands. The police administration and election commission should be assisted and cooperated, in the proper discharge of their duties for the maintenance of peace and harmony.
