Agartala, 8th December 2024: Leader of Opposition Jitendra Chaudhury today said that the party has started working to restore democracy in the state as attacks on their programs and other activities have stopped which was high in last few years.
Chaudhury made this statement while addressing a two-day 24th Khowai divisional conference of the CPIM party.
“Based on fake promises, BJP formed a government with IPFT and later allied with Tipra Motha. They are all working to loot the people and to confuse and deprive the Indigenous youth. Today their real face has come before the people of the state. Their actions do not match their promises and words. The people of Tripura are now unable to believe them,” he said.
Chaudhury further stated that Tipra Motha and BJP leaders, though not everyone, are busy looting the state. A competition has started in looting the state from the Panchayat to the Secretariat level.
“They have understood that their days are numbered due to the violence, division, and efforts to create issues between tribal and non-tribal, Hindus and Muslims. People have started speaking out against these things and protesting these incidents across the state. In the last six years, we have been unable to work as they have created bike bahinis and prevented us from our democratic work. However, today, such things have been controlled, and now we must take advantage of this situation. We must work to restore democracy,” he added.
The 24th two-day Conference of the CPIM party was attended by 208 representatives from 11 regions of Khowai. Aghor Debbarma, Ranjit Debbarma, MLA Nirmal Biswas, Rama Pal, Aloy Roy and others were present at the conference on this day.
