Agartala, 22nd March 2024 : Ahead of the upcoming Lok Sabha election, the opposition CPIM has encountered a significant setback as more than 600 voters in Agartala have made the decision to switch allegiance to the BJP.

Addressing the development, BJP state general secretary Amit Rakshit highlighted that the influx of voters into the BJP ranks primarily comprises laborers from various sectors. Their decision to join the BJP, he explained, stemmed from their firsthand experience of the current government’s and party’s initiatives aimed at the welfare of the populace.

“Most of the new BJP members were formerly associated with the CPIM. A total of 600 voters, hailing from 120 families, have chosen to align with us. These individuals, predominantly laborers representing diverse backgrounds, have observed both the CPIM’s governance and the BJP’s efforts. Their decision to join us reflects their belief in the positive changes ushered in by our government. They have experienced tangible benefits under our administration and have found no necessity to engage in rallies or protests. Our party welcomes them without prejudice based on their previous political affiliations. Our primary focus remains on comprehensive development and the well-being of our citizens,” Rakshit emphasized.
