BY TC News Desk

Agartala, January 02:  In a disturbing repetition of events, miscreants once again targeted the CPIM divisional office at Manik Bhandar in Kamalpur, setting it ablaze around eleven o’clock at night yesterday. This marks the ninth instance of arson since the CPI(M) relinquished power in 2018, with the latest attack occurring on Monday night.

Local authorities were alerted by residents, prompting the immediate response of firefighters to contain the flames. The firefighters successfully brought the fire under control, preventing further damage to the CPIM office.

In response to the recurrent attacks, members of the CPI(M) Kamalpur sub-committee organized a protest march at Manikbhandar Bazar on Tuesday. Notable figures present at the protest included CPIM Kamalpur Divisional Secretary Anjan Das, Editorial Board Member Ranjit Ghosh, Student Leader Suleman Ali, and ST Leader Badarbhum Halam. Expressing his concern, Divisional Secretary Anjan Das highlighted that the party office, constructed with public funds, has continuously faced attacks, leaving only the structure intact. He lamented that the miscreants not only set the building on fire but also looted all materials inside. Despite the challenges, Das emphasized that party programs would continue to be conducted from this office.
