Agartala, 17th April 2025:   CPIM Kamalpur sub-divisional committee today organized a protest march and street corner at Halhali in Kamalpur sub-division. The demonstration targeted the rising costs of cooking gas, petrol-diesel, life-saving medicines and the Modi government’s Waqf Amendment Act.

CPIM Secretary of Dhalai district Anjan Das, former secretary and senior leader Ranjit Ghosh and Secretaries from various local committees joined the procession.

Speaking at the event, CPIM Secretary Anjan Das expressed concern over the financial strain caused by the central government’s policies. “The entire country is breathless due to the price hike by the central government,” Das remarked. He highlighted the recent Rs 50 increase in cooking gas prices, stating, “This sudden surge has put immense pressure on the middle-class families.” Das also pointed out the escalating costs of life-saving medicines, which he described as “alarming and burdensome.”
