Agartala, 6th June 2025: In a bid to promote environmental sustainability, the 124 Battalion of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) conducted a large-scale tree plantation and cleanliness drive on the occasion of World Environment Day 2025. The initiative was carried out at the unit headquarters as well as at all company locations across the state.
As part of the campaign, saplings were planted in various locations, including roadsides, school premises, temple grounds, and office boundaries. Battalion Commandant Sh. Ravish Kumar emphasized the importance of a green and clean environment, inspiring personnel to contribute towards ecological well-being for a healthier life.
The event saw enthusiastic participation from officers and jawans, who not only planted trees but also spread awareness about cleanliness and sustainability. Civilians, including schoolteachers and students, joined the effort, demonstrating strong community involvement in the cause.
The drive highlighted key themes of afforestation, environmental consciousness, and collective responsibility, reinforcing the CRPF’s role beyond security operations. By fostering green initiatives and strengthening bonds with local communities, the battalion showcased its commitment to ecological resilience and sustainable development.
