Agartala, April 13, 2023: Panic triggered among the residents of Shib Nagar area due to a daring theft took place in a rented house on the wee hours of Thursday under East Agartala police station.
It is reported that a gang of thieves with weapons broke the door of Jayanta Narayan Singh’s house in Shib Nagar area in the early hours of Thursday. A group of thieves stole Rs 5 lakh in cash, ring stones worth over Rs 16-17 thousand along with gold ornaments from the house.
Jayanta Narayan Singh’s wife said that after the group of thieves entered their house, they realized the matter but they did not scream for fear of their lives.
Later, his wife informed the owner of the house over the phone. As soon as the owner of the house came out with several people, the group of thieves fled from the spot.
Receiving information, a large contingent of police force rushed to the spot from East Agartala police station and started investigating the case.
It is learned that Jayanta Narayan Singh and his family lived as tenants in Rajib Sen’s house for a long time.
