Agartala, 16th March 2025: In a shocking incident, the owner of a house and his tenant allegedly committed a daring theft, ransacking two houses and looting cash and gold ornaments. The incident took place at Gokulnagar Road, spreading panic among the local residents.
The wife of the deceased homeowner, Bidhu Bhushan Bhowmik, revealed that no one was at home at the time of the incident. He stated that they had gone for a walk along with the tenant’s family last Friday afternoon. Upon returning on Sunday morning, they were shocked to find the gate of their house locked from the outside. Upon closer inspection, they discovered that the locks of the house were broken, and the interior had been completely ransacked. Valuables, including cash and gold ornaments, were missing.
The victims immediately reported the matter to the Bishalgarh police station. The police assured the affected families that a theft case had been initiated and investigations were underway. However, growing concerns about law and order in the area have left residents anxious.
In another disturbing incident, a group of theft raided the Kali temple in the Gokulnagar Pandit Chowmuhoni area. According to reports, the miscreants attempted to break the lock of the temple and steal the Pranami box. The incident came to light on Sunday morning, triggering widespread panic among the devotees and locals.
The Gokulnagar area has witnessed a surge in theft cases recently, with several households falling victim to burglars. A previous case involving a TSR jawan and a housewife had already created a stir in the locality. Despite multiple incidents, the Vishalgarh police station has yet to make any arrests.
With the frequency of thefts increasing, residents are demanding swift action from law enforcement authorities to restore security in the area.
